Overview

This document describes the root account permission settings and message reception. You can follow the steps below to understand the root account permissions and how to modify the message reception method.

Prerequisites

You have registered a cloud platform account, namely the root account.

Directions

Root Account Does Not Require Authorization

The root account automatically possesses all resources under the cloud platform account without requiring authorization and can access any resource at will. Therefore, it is not recommended to perform resource operations using the root account. Instead, you should create sub-accounts and assign policies based on the principle of least privilege, allowing sub-accounts with limited permission scopes to manage your cloud resources.

Root Account Message Reception

The security phone number and security email registered when you sign up for the cloud platform root account will serve as the initial message reception methods. If you modify the security phone number or security email within the Account Center > Console, the contact phone number or contact email used for cloud platform message notifications in the Cloud Access Management (CAM) > Console will not be synchronized.

Note: To avoid any losses caused by missed messages, please promptly visit the Cloud Access Management console to confirm whether the contact phone number or contact email used for message subscriptions meets your expectations.
