Network Pricing
In Converge Cloud Load Balancer (CLB), network use refers to the data transferred between the CLB instance and the internet or other Converge Cloud resources. This includes both inbound (incoming) and outbound (outgoing) traffic. Only public network CLBs incur network fees. Private network CLB instances do not incur network fees.
| Outbound Bandwidth (Purchased) | Inbound Bandwidth (Allocated) | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ≤ 10 Mbps | 10 Mbps | Minimum inbound bandwidth allocation |
| > 10 Mbps | Equal to purchased outbound bandwidth | Inbound matches outbound bandwidth |
All network billing modes:
- If the user purchases 10 Mbps or less of outbound bandwidth, Converge Cloud provides 10 Mbps of public network inbound bandwidth by default.
- If the user purchases greater than 10 Mbps, Converge Cloud allocates public network inbound bandwidth equal to the purchased outbound bandwidth.
Billing cycle (Pay-As-You-Go)
For pay-as-you-go CLB instances, the network billing modes include traffic-based billing and bandwidth-based billing.
A. Traffic-based billing (Pay-by-Traffic)
In Converge Cloud, data transferred over the public network is calculated in gigabytes (GB) and billed on an hourly basis. This pricing model is well-suited for businesses with fluctuating or unpredictable traffic and is most cost-effective when bandwidth utilization is below 10%. You can set a bandwidth cap to control costs—any traffic beyond the cap is dropped without additional charges.
This model is best suited for:
- Startups and small applications
- Testing or development environments
- Seasonal or campaign-based traffic
It offers flexibility, accurate billing, and helps avoid overpaying for unused bandwidth.
Key Considerations:
- Traffic charges are based on the outbound traffic sent from the CLB instance to the public network.
- To avoid unexpected costs from traffic spikes, you can set a bandwidth limit—any traffic beyond the cap is discarded and not billed.
- Traffic is measured using binary units, where 1 TB = 1,024 GB and 1 GB = 1,024 MB.

B. Bandwidth-based Billing (Pay-by-Bandwidth)
Bandwidth-based billing charges you based on the fixed outbound bandwidth (in Mbps) that you pre-select, regardless of how much traffic is actually used. This model is offered by Converge Cloud for CLB users who need stable and predictable network performance.
It is especially recommended for scenarios where traffic remains steady or high over time, such as live streaming, gaming platforms, enterprise websites, or real-time communication services. Since the cost does not fluctuate with usage, this billing model offers budget predictability, which is ideal for organizations managing fixed monthly operational costs.
While it may not be as cost-effective for low or variable traffic, it ensures reliable bandwidth availability, helping maintain performance consistency during peak demand.
