Overview

Before using the CFS monitoring feature, install the CFS service monitoring plugin on the CVM client that uses CFS to better manage the CFS service.

Installing the Monitoring Plugin

For specific operations, see Installing the CFS Service Monitoring Plugin on the Client.

Performance Monitoring

Go to the Cloud Monitor console, choose Cloud Product Monitoring > CFS. On the CFS Monitoring page, you can view the health status of each file system and the alarm information.

Viewing the Performance Monitoring Metrics of a File System

Click the ID/name of any file system to go to the Details page.
Users can select the corresponding time window to view the usage of the monitored file system.

The monitoring metrics supported by CFS are as follows:

Metric Name Description Unit Level
Storage capacity File system storage capacity at the current time GB Single file system
Read bandwidth Average amount of data read from a file system per second KB/s Single file system
Read IOPS Average number of reads from a file system per second count Single file system
Write bandwidth Average amount of data written to a file system per second KB/s Single file system
Write IOPS Average number of write operations on a file system per second count Single file system
Read latency Latency in reading data from a file system ms Single file system
Write latency Latency in writing data to a file system ms Single file system
Number of connected clients Number of clients connected to the file system % Single file system
Success rate of client health monitoring Success rate of client health status monitoring % Single file system
Capacity utilization Ratio of used storage capacity to total available capacity % Single file system
inode utilization Ratio of assigned inodes (index nodes) to total inodes % Single file system

Note:

Due to the local cache on the client, the read bandwidth and read IOPS of the file system obtained by Cloud Monitor may be slightly less than the actual usage.

Viewing the Alarm Policies of a File System

On the Alarm Policy page, users can view the alarm policies bound to each file system. Click the policy name to view policy details or perform unbinding operations.

Configuring an Alarm

The cloud platform allows users to configure alarm and notification policies for the file system based on monitoring metrics. If you want to create a policy or bind a policy to the file system, go to the Cloud Monitor Alarm Policy page.

Choose Cloud Monitor > Alarm Configuration > Alarm Policy to enter the Alarm Policy page for operations. For detailed operations, see the document titled Cloud Monitor Alarm Service Guide.
