Installing CFS Service Monitoring Plugin on Clients

Last Updated At: 2025-10-15 22:08:05

Overview

The CFS service monitoring plugin is a plugin integrated on the cloud monitoring component to monitor the performance of the CFS file system and client connections. It is strongly recommended to install the CFS service monitoring plugin on clients such as Cloud Virtual Machine or containers that adopt CFS for better management of CFS services.

Operating System Support

The CFS service monitoring plugin currently supports client monitoring over NFS (CIFS/SMB not supported) and supports the following platforms. Other Linux kernel version systems may have compatibility problems.

Operating System Version
CentOS CentOS 8.2 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 8.0 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 7.9 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 7.8 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 7.7 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 7.6 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 7.5 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 7.4 X86_64 Architecture
CentOS 6.7 X86_64 Architecture
Ubuntu Ubuntu Server 20.04 64-bit
Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 64-bit

Description

The principle and main features of the plugin are as follows:

  • Principle: The plugin reads data from NFS related logs in /proc/self/mountstats and /var/log/messages, and the data read is related to performance, status, and mounted parameters. It does not involve actual user business data.
  • Main features: Read the status of client mount points using CFS, detect the availability of mount points and collect performance-related data.

Linux Installation Guide

For more information, see Cloud Monitor Component Installation Guide.

Windows clients are not supported yet.

Monitoring Incoming Clients

In the CFS console, click the file system name to enter the details of the file system. Select Mounted Client to view the client information on which the file system has been mounted. If no plugin is installed in the client, the information cannot be obtained.

Note:

There will be a delay of 1-3 minutes for client information display.
