You can follow the steps below to create a new chart.

  1. Add New Metric

    1. Log in to the Cloud Platform console and click Cloud Monitor > Dashboard > Dashboard List.
    2. Select the corresponding dashboard, and click Create New > Create New Chart.
    3. Configure the metric information as follows:
    • Metric: Select the product type and metric.
    • Filtering: Choose the filtering conditions to filter and display the data on the chart that meets the criteria.
Instance: The chart will display the monitoring data of the selected instances.
Template Variables: The chart will display instances of template variable filters. See the template variable documentation for the configuration of template variables.
    • Comparison: Supports sequential comparison (the same period yesterday), year-on-year comparison (same period last week), and custom time comparison. When both options are selected, the chart will display the monitoring curves for the selected instance during the same time period of yesterday and last week, providing convenience for you to compare the data.
    • Left Y-axis, Right Y-axis: Supports adjusting the placement of the Y-axis on either side.
    • More configurations:
Alias: Supports one-click renaming of all instance aliases. If you need different instances to have different aliases, you can create multiple metrics and enter an alias under each.
Enable Sorting Feature: The instances bound to the chart will be sorted according to the sorting rules and display quantity, used to implement the high and low load features of a large number of monitoring machines.
Sorting rules: Supports various methods of sorting metrics, which can be used to filter instances based on the sorting results.
Display quantity: Display the number of instances. For example, set the collation rule as "maximum; descending order", and display quantity as 10. This means the chart will display the top 10 instances with the maximum value in descending order.
    1. Configure chart information as follows:
    • Basic Information: Includes the chart name and chart annotation.
    • Chart Type: Select from line chart, bar chart, gauge chart, pie chart, numerical statistic chart, heatmap, or table. Customize the chart display method based on each chart type.
    1. After configuration, click the top-left [<-] to return to the Dashboard page to add the new chart configuration.
  2. Manage multiple metrics

    • You can click [Add Metric] or the "Copy" icon button to display multiple metrics in the same chart for cross-instance metric data comparison.
    • You can click the up and down arrows to adjust the metric order.
    • You can click the "Delete" icon button to remove metrics.
  3. Editing a chart

    1. Click the […] in the upper right corner of the chart you need to edit.
    2. Click [Edit] in the popup to enter the chart editing page.
