This document gives a full overview of the billing options for Converge Cloud Load Balancer (CLB) instances. CLB is a cloud service that distributes traffic across multiple servers to improve application performance and avoid single points of failure. By intelligently balancing the load, CLB ensures that your application remains fast, stable, and highly available, even during periods of high demand. It uses a cluster-based setup to achieve up to 99.95% availability.
Key Advantages of Converge Cloud Load Balancer (CLB)
High Performance - With the ability to support hundreds of millions of concurrent connections and handle millions of requests per second, a CLB cluster ensures performance at scale—perfect for businesses running e-commerce, social networking, or gaming platforms with over 10 million daily visits.
High Availability - CLB is built on a high-availability cluster model, providing up to 99.95% uptime. Even with just one physical server remaining, it can handle tens of millions of connections. The system continuously monitors health status, removing faulty components and keeping the rest stable to ensure consistent service.
High Elasticity - CLB enables elastic scaling of your application by adjusting resources in real time through Auto Scaling, which adds or removes CVMs based on load. With built-in monitoring and accurate per-second billing, you can run efficiently without manual effort or over-provisioning—minimizing waste and maximizing value.
High Security and Stability - CLB includes built-in protection against common network threats like DDoS and web attacks, powered by the BGP Anti-DDoS system. It filters malicious traffic within seconds, helping prevent IP blocking and bandwidth overload.
A built-in synproxy mechanism that protects backend servers from crashes during attacks, ensuring service stability. All public CLB instances come with Anti-DDoS Basic by default, with options to upgrade to Pro, Advanced, or add Web Application Firewall (WAF) for stronger protection.Low Costs - CLB helps reduce costs and complexity by removing the need for physical load balancers and routine manual tasks—cutting hardware and labor expenses by up to 99%. Choose from flexible billing options based on your usage.
Billing Items
Converge CLB currently provides a Shared Instance that supports self-service management, automated fault recovery, and protection against network attacks. It is suitable for use cases such as enterprises, residential communities, e-commerce platforms, and online games. The service charges for CLB consist of three components: the instance fee, the network fee, and the cross-region binding fee.
bill-by-IP accounts
| Instance Type | Network Type | Instance Type | Public Network Fee | Cross-Region Binding Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shared | Public Network | Yes | Yes | Optional |
| Private Network | No |
Optimizing Performance with Converge CLB Shared Instance
🛠️ Simple Configuration
Easy to set up and manage, making it ideal for beginners and small to medium-sized deployments.
Cost-Effective
You share the load balancing infrastructure with other users, which helps reduce costs without compromising performance.
Common Use Cases
Well-suited for standard web applications, e-commerce platforms, company websites, and internal tools.
Secure and Isolated
Although resources are shared, your traffic and data remain secure and logically isolated from others.
Billing Modes
Standard Account Type (bill-by-IP accounts)
In this account type, bandwidth and traffic are assigned to public IP addresses or Cloud Load Balancers (CLBs), rather than directly to Cloud Virtual Machines (CVMs). As a result, CVMs do not have direct access to public network bandwidth or traffic resources.
| Billing Mode | Network Billing Mode | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Pay-As-You-Go | Traffic-based billing | Bill by the outgoing data volume |
| Bandwidth packages | Bill by the higher one between inbound bandwidth peak and outbound bandwidth peak |
