Overview
This document guides you to build a CVM with IPv6 CIDR and enable IPv6 for the Elastic Network Interface to achieve IPv6 intranet and extranet communication.
Currently, Elastic IPv6 is in internal testing. If you have any needs, please submit an application.
Operation Notes
- Before starting to use Converge Cloud products, you need to register a Converge Cloud account first.
- The IPv6 address is a GUA address. Each VPC is allocated with one
/56IPv6 CIDR. Each subnet is allocated with one/64IPv6 CIDR. Each ENI is allocated with one IPv6 address. - Both the primary network interface and the secondary network interface support applying for IPv6 addresses. For more information about the relationship between CVM and ENI, see Elastic Network Interface product documentation.
Directions
Since IPv6 is in a public beta, IPv6 addresses are not configured for CVM instances by default. If your CVM needs to enable the IPv6 function, please manually configure it first. For details, please refer to Quickly build an IPv6 Virtual Private Cloud.
Step 1: Purchase CVMs(optional)
If you have already purchased a CVM, you can skip this step.
Log in to the CVM purchase page.
When selecting a model, select a region and network that supports IPv6.
When setting up the host, select a security group that supports IPv6 and check Assign IPv6 addresses for free.
Note:If the network or security group you selected does not support IPv6, please refer to Quickly build an IPv6 Virtual Private Cloud to create a Virtual Private Cloud and security group that meet your needs.
Check the purchased CVM information and complete the payment.
