CVM Dedicated Host (CDH) provides users with exclusive physical server resources to meet users' needs for exclusive resources, the physical isolation of resources, security, and compliance, and is a supplement to CVM products. CDH is equipped with the Converge Cloud virtualization system, on which you can flexibly create and manage multiple CVM instances of custom specifications and independently plan the use of physical resources.
Relevant Concepts
When you learn about CDH, the following concepts are usually involved:
- Host type: the type of hosts. Different types of hosts have different hardware configurations.
- Local hard disk type: the disk type on the host. Different types of hosts carry different types of disks, including local hard disks and local SSD hard disks.
- CVM instance: a CVM instance allocated on a host, also referred to as instance in some documents.
- CBS: The distributed persistent block storage device provided by Converge Cloud can be used as the system disk or expandable data disk of the instance.
- Image: an instance provisioning template that contains a preconfigured server environment (operating system and other installed software).
- VPC: a customized virtual network space that is logically isolated from other resources.
- IP address: the internal and external service addresses of the CVM instance, that is, the private network IP addres and public network IP address
- SSH key: a more secure way to log in to your Linux CVM than regular passwords.
- Security group: Perform secure access control on the instance and specify the IP, protocol, and port rules for entering and exiting the instance.
- Regions and availability zones: the starting position of the resource.
