Overview

Converge Cloud CVM Window Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition SP1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 optimize the network performance of virtual hardware through installing Virtio network interface drivers. Converge Cloud will continue to improve the network interface drivers to enhance performance and rectify faults. This document will guide you on how to update the Virtio network interface drivers and view the driver version.

Prerequisites

Log in to the Converge Cloud CVM.
Contact engineers to obtain the VirtIO network interface driver virtio_64_10003.msi.

Directions

Viewing the System Version Information

You can view your system version information through following steps:

  1. Log in to the CVM, right-click on the desktop to click Computer > Attribute, to open the System window.
  2. In View basic computer information of System, you can view the system version information.

Methods to Update Virtio Network Interface Drivers

Note:

The network may be intermittently disconnected during the update process. Before updating, check if it will affect your business. After the update, you will need to restart your computer.

  1. Download the VirtIO network interface driver installation file suitable for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2 through the browser in the CVM.
  2. After downloading, double-click to start the installer, select the Typical installation mode, and click Next.
  3. In the security prompt that pops up, select Always trust software from "XXX" and click Install.
  4. During the installation process, if the following pop-up box appears, please select Always install this driver software.
  5. Follow the prompts and restart your computer to complete the update.

Viewing the Driver Version

  1. Click , enter ncpa.cpl in the "Run" box, and press Enter.
  2. In the opened Network Connection window, right-click the Ethernet icon and select Properties.
  3. In the pop-up Ethernet Properties window, click Configure.
  4. In the [XXX VirtIO Ethernet Adapter Properties] window, select the Driver tab to view the current driver version.
