Billing Structure

Private NAT Gateway fees include:

  • Instance fee
  • Capacity Unit (CU) fee

Both are postpaid and billed hourly.

Formulas

Instance Fee

Instance fee = Instance price × Usage duration (hours)

CU Fee

CU fee = CU price × Number of CUs × Usage duration (hours)

  • Number of CUs is based on the maximum CU consumption among all metrics:
    Number of CUs = MAX[
Number of CUs for hourly active connections,
Number of CUs for hourly new connections,
Number of CUs for hourly traffic processed
    ]

Capacity Unit (CU) Metrics

CU measures performance and traffic processing. Metrics include active connections, new connections, and processed traffic.

Metric CU Coefficient Description Calculation Formula
Active connections Example: 10,000 Number of simultaneous connections Max active connections per minute ÷ CU coefficient
New connections Example: 1,000 Number of new connections per second Max new connections per second ÷ CU coefficient
Traffic processed Example: 1 GB Total inbound and outbound traffic Total processed traffic ÷ CU coefficient
Note:

The billing system records performance metrics per hour and selects the metric with the highest CU consumption to calculate CU fees.

Billing Example

Private NAT Gateway instance used for 1 hour in a region.

Average per hour:

  • Active connections: 15,000
  • New connections: 3,000
  • Traffic processed: 10 GB

CU Calculation:

Metric Calculation
Active connections 15,000 ÷ 10,000 = 1.5
New connections 3,000 ÷ 1,000 = 3
Traffic processed 10 ÷ 1 = 10
  • Max CU for billing: 10

Total Fee Formula

Total fee = Instance fee + CU fee

Note:

Pricing policies may change, and any discounts or adjustments are applied according to official guidelines.
